A hard day for parking wardens

Another quick thought about snowy weather. I don’t know what it’s like where you live but in my neighbourhood the parking wardens are notoriously eagle-eyed.

Now, I have to say I’ve mixed feelings about these much-derided men and women who tirelessly seek to catch out even the slightest parking infringement. When I see someone else getting a ticket, I’m inclined to think ’serves you right’. Surely there are enough cars clogging up our streets and drivers should park properly, or pay the consequences?

On the other hand, it’s never nice when you get a ticket yourself, so it was with a slight smile on my lips when I realised this morning that our local parking wardens will have to spend all day brushing snow off car windscreens to work out who’s got a valid ticket or not. Poor things.
